Daniel Bretscher 26 Greencastle, IN
Daniel’s second year on Team Sport Beans/NTTC will be just his third year as a pro. In 2008, he was honored as USA Triathlon's Elite Male Rookie of the Year, only a year after being named USA Triathlon’s Male Age-Group Triathlete of the Year. His rookie pro season in 2008 was highlighted by six wins, including the Spirit of Morgantown Half Iron in a course-record 4:05:23. He also placed 2nd at Memphis in May (1:47:53), 3rd at the Muskoka Ironman 70.3, and 4th at Kansas IM 70.3. In 2009, Daniel suffered broken ribs in a bike crash at the Kansas IM 70.3, but still managed to record ten wins during the season. He also placed 9th at the Florida IM 70.3 and 7th at the Steelhead IM 70.3. He capped his season with a 7th place finish at the Amica Pro Sprint Championship in Arizona. |
Uli Bromme 28 Boulder, CO
Uli is new to the team in 2010 and will be beginning only her second year as a pro. Her rookie season in 2009 saw her finish 2nd to future teammate Jessica Jacobs at the USAT Elite National Duathlon Championship. She went on to represent the USA at the ITU World Duathlon Championship. Despite a crash on the bike, she placed 17th overall at Worlds (2nd American). On the tri circuit, Uli placed 8th at the Buffalo Springs IM 70.3 (4:55:26) and 5th at the Hulaman Half Iron in 4:34:14. She also placed 11th at the Boise IM 70.3 and 10th at the Boulder Peak Olympic Tri. She finished the season with a 10th place at Ironman Arizona, crossing the line in a fast 9:47:44. It was only her second Ironman race ever! |

Ben Hoffman 26 Durango, CO
Ben’s second year on Team Sport Beans/NTTC will be his fourth as a pro. He was the Collegiate National Triathlon Champion in 2006. In 2007, he won the USAT National Long Course Championship at Wildflower and raced for Team USA at the ITU Long Course World Championships in L’Orient, France. In 2008, Ben won the Harvest Moon Half Iron, had four top-10 finishes at Ironman 70.3 races, and finished the season with a 6th place finish at Ironman Arizona in 8:24:13. In 2009, his highlights included four wins, a 2nd at the Calgary IM 70.3, 4th at Boise IM 70.3 (3:56:32), and a 5th at the New Orleans IM 70.3. He raced the Ironman World Championship in Kona for the first time and was again selected by USA Triathlon to complete for Team USA at the ITU Long Course World Championship in Perth, Australia, where he placed 22nd overall, 2nd American. |
Jessica Jacobs 33 Maylene, AL
2010 will be Jessica’s third year as a pro and second on Team Sport Beans/NTTC. In 2008, she placed 3rd (2nd American) at Ironman Wisconsin in 9:50:45 and 3rd (1st American) at Ironman Florida with a sizzling 9:17:51 clocking. Her 4:50:52 bike split in Florida was one of the fastest ever for a woman at any Ironman. In 2009, Jess began the season with a bang by winning the USAT Elite National Duathlon Championship. She also won the very first ever Trek Women’s Tri Series race in Austin. Jess also placed 7th at Ironman Coeur d’ Alene (9:54:58), 6th at the Quelle Roth Challenge Iron-distance in 9:25:24 (1st American), and 21st at the Ironman World Championship. She capped her year with a 6th at Ironman Florida, clocking 9:27:40 less than a month after Kona. |

Lauren Jensen 42 Muskego, WI
A veteran pro who has won over 75 triathlons in her career, Lauren will be in her fifth year on the team in 2010. She was the 2004 US Pro/Elite National Long Course Triathlon Champion, the 2003 US Pro/Elite National Duathlon Champion, and was 12th at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2000. Lauren has four Ironman podium finishes in her career (2nd at IM Wisconsin in 2004, 3rd at IM Brazil in 2005 in 9:49:11, 2nd at IM Wisconsin in 2005, and 3rd at IM Wisconsin in 2006). In 2009, Lauren won nine triathlons and was 13th at Ironman Arizona in 9:58:33. Her wins included victories at the Rockman Half Iron in 4:40:55 and the Pleasant Prairie Olympic Tri. She also placed 2nd at the SOMA Half Iron and 7th at the Memphis in May Olympic-distance. |
Jessica Jones Meyers 31 Tulsa, OK
Jessica is new to Team Sport Beans/NTTC. In 2006, she turned pro and was a member of the USA Triathlon National Resident Team at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and the Army World Class Athlete Program. She is a former Armed Forces Triathlon Champion. After giving birth to twins (boy and girl) in 2007, Jessica returned to triathlon in 2008 with an emphasis on non-draft legal and longer distance racing. In 2009, she had three top-10 finishes at Ironman 70.3 races (10th at New Orleans 70.3, 7th at Kansas IM 70.3 in 4:29:11, and 6th at the Longhorn IM 70.3). She also placed 3rd at the Memphis in May Olympic. |

Brad Seng 40 Boulder, CO
2010 will be Brad’s fourth year with the team. He is a long- and ultra-distance specialist and one of the top runners in the sport. In 2006, he placed 5th pro at Ironman Wisconsin and took 3rd place at the USAT Long Course National Championships in Racine, WI. In 2008, Brad capped his season with a 9:12:02 clocking at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI (where his 2:49:17 marathon was the 5th fastest of the day) and a 3:59:29 at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Clearwater, FL. In 2009 he won the Racing for Recovery Half Iron in a new course-record 4:08:30, was 8th at Ironman Lake Placid in 9:15:27, 2nd at the Harvest Moon Half Iron, and raced the Ironman World Championship in Kona for the third straight year. |
Nicholas Thompson 27 Danville, CA
This will be Nicholas’ first year on the team and only his second full year as a pro. In 2007, he was ranked number one male age-group triathlete in the country by USA Triathlon and was a USAT All American. In 2008, he won the USAT Amateur Long Course Duathlon National Championship before turning pro later that season. Nicholas’ 2009 season highlights included an 11th at Wildflower, 8th at Boise IM 70.3 in 4:03:52, 7th at Vineman IM 70.3 in 4:04:15, and a 3rd at Tinley’s Long Course Triathlon. |
